WAYNETOWN  -- Funeral services for Harold M. Dazey were conducted at the Servies Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon with Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Mrs. Anna Grenard played organ music and included a selected number, "Whispering Hope." The pallbearers, who assisted with the flowers were Eddie Stephens, William Dazey, Harold Fulwider, Carl Fulwider, Robert Briney and Eddie Alden. Graveside rites in Oakland Cemetery were held by Byron Cox Post of the American Legion of Crawfordsville. Those taking part were Howard Peace, Walter Remley, Donald Lovold, Ernest Ramsten, Paul Vickrey, Andy Browning, Harold Vaught, Raymond Abbott and Edwin Cine. - kbz

Harold M. Dazey Dies In Hospital; Rites Wednesday- Harold Morris Dazey, 58, 208 Walnut St., died at 10 p.m. Sunday at Culver Hospital. He had been taken to the hospital after becoming ill Sunday morning at the home of a sister, Mrs. Robert Fulwider, north of Elmdale. He had been in failing health for a year. Dazey was a crane operator for heavy machinery. During World War II, he served in the Army in the Central Pacific and Asiatic theaters of operation. Born July 26, 1905, in Coal Creek Township, he was the son of Henry and Louella Watts Dazey. He was a member of the Emery Park Baptist Church in Tucson, Ariz., and a former member of the Center Church north of Elmdale. The survivors include four brothers, Leland and Tom of Los Angeles, Fred of Liberal, Mo., and Donald of Waynetown; 10 sisters, Mrs. Asa Humphreys of Hillsboro, Mrs. Robert Fulwider of near Elmdale and Mrs. Lloyd Stephens and Mrs. Junior Kelly of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Kenneth Seybold of Waveland, Mrs. Vern Staggs of Rockville, Mrs. Marion Smith of Wingate, Mrs. Robert Broderick of Kansas City, Mrs. Rex Swaggert of Salem, Ore., and Mrs. Virginia Evans of Satsop, Wash. Another brother, John, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown, with Rev. John Servies in charge. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
